Have you ever noticed that some of my rabbit's have links connected to their names? Its because I like people to know what the meaning of a name is. I love useless bits of information so I thought I would share!
My color programs mostly have themes that I pick names from. My whites are obvious... Z names. My BEW all have a blue based theme. My himi are supposed to have asian based themes. Sable Points will be Italian if I ever get anymore. :) Everything else I am more flexible with and just name them names I think sound cool or interesting.
With the offspring out of my King does, I like to think of a name with King in it. I have a Kingston out there and now a Kingpin. Next up is Kingsley and King Me!
I have purchased 4 King rabbits in the past. Now Doug never usually names them...just gives them a number so I do the honors. The first one I paid ALOT of money for. I bid on her in the 24K Auction at Convention in Ft. Worth. I guess the other lady wanted her really bad too. Anyway, she was named King's Ransom. My black doe I got next was named King's Queen and the white doe was King's Mistress because I got them at the same time. Then I got a broken black buck that was lightly marked and these cute black ears. I called him King's Jester!
How do you come up with names for your rabbits? If you have some name ideas for me...just pop over an email! :) qwazirabit@aol.com
P.S. My buck Zit is mentioned in the latest issue of the NMRRC Newsletter! A pic of me, Zit and Rhythm is pictured as well.

I was just watching Toy Story and the villian on there is named Zurg. That could be another 'Z' name. By the way, you could probaby use Kingston again sometime down the road as he is no longer 'around'. I did keep two brood does out of him though! He was crossed to an Icebox doe and produced a REW that has some REALLY nice fur!
Hi Kati...sorry to hear that Kingston didnt work out but atleast it sounds like you got some nice stuff out of him! Kingston was a full brother to Zit and Zit has been producing very nicely for me!
Thanks for the name idea! I like it!
I thought you might enjoy sifting through 'Z' words in the dictionary...lol.

There are pages of Z words & names including some interesting last names - like Zinkernagel, a Swiss Immunologist. ;-)
Now, to find that elusive "Blue" themed dictionary! LOL
Enjoy!

Oops... forgot to also mention that if you click on the "K" link on the top of that dictionary link - there's also a long list of "King" words.
Some other possibilities off the top of my head - "Striking", "Mimicking", "Blinking", "Frolicking" - all end in "King" ;-)
You can search for "*king" in the search bar of the same link, then more 'king' ending words will come up 10 at at time. ;-)
I raise self colored and broken mini rex. Each color has a theme with it for names. I keep a notebook with the names written down as I never remember them when I need too. =) Also, when I have a lot of babies from one variety (i.e. 25 blacks), I will have theme names for each litter. This makes it easier for me to tell who is out of who. I show dogs too and that is common with dog litters.
